Where to Stay

1. Starting in Switzerland (Chur or St. Moritz)

The Bernina Express starts in Chur or St. Moritz and travels to Tirano, Italy.

If coming from Zurich:
- Take a Swiss Rail (SBB) train to Chur (approx. 1.5 hours).
- Board the Bernina Express from Chur to Tirano (approx. 4 hours).
If coming from Geneva:
- Take a train to Zurich or Chur, then follow the same route.
If coming from Lucerne:
- Take the scenic Glacier Express to St. Moritz.
- Board the Bernina Express from St. Moritz to Tirano.
2. Reaching Italy via Tirano

The Bernina Express ends in Tirano, a small Italian town near the Swiss border.
- From Tirano to Milan:
  - Take a regional train from Tirano to Milan (about 2.5 hours).
  - This train runs frequently, and no reservation is needed.
- From Milan to Other Italian Cities:
  - High-speed trains connect Milan to Rome, Venice, Florence, and Naples.

Choose between 1st class (more comfort) or 2nd class.
Seat reservations are mandatory.

4. Cross the Swiss-Italian Border

The train moves from Switzerland (Chur, St. Moritz) to Italy (Tirano).
No passport control if you're from the Schengen Zone.
Non-Schengen travelers should carry necessary visas/documents.

5. Explore Beyond Tirano

From Tirano, take an Italian train to Milan, Lake Como, or other Italian cities.
From Chur/St. Moritz, connect to Swiss cities like Zurich, Lucerne, or Interlaken.
