Seattle US

"The most populated city in the Pacific Northwest region of North America and the U.S. state of Washington is Seattle. With 780,995 residents as of 2024, it ranks as the 18th most populated city in the US. However, with more than 4.15 million inhabitants, the Seattle metropolitan region ranks as the 15th most populated metropolitan area in the US. King County, Washington's most populated the county, has its county seat in the city. Seattle was one of the fastest-growing big cities in the nation, with a growth rate of 21.1% between 2010 and 2020.   Seattle is located on an isthmus that separates Lake Washington from Puget Sound, a Pacific Ocean inlet. Situated roughly 100 miles (160 km) south of the Canadian border, it is the northernmost major city in the United States. As of 2021, the Port of Seattle, which serves as a gateway for trade with East Asia, ranked fourth in North America for container handling.   Before the first permanent European settlers arrived, Native Americans (including the Duwamish, who had at least 17 communities surrounding Elliot Bay) had lived in the Seattle area for at least 4,000 years.14 On November 13, 1851, Arthur A. Denny and his party of travelers—later dubbed the Denny Party—arrived at Alki Point on the schooner Exact from Illinois via Portland, Oregon.Named ""Seattle"" for Chief Seattle, a notable 19th-century chief of the nearby Duwamish and Suquamish tribes, the settlement was relocated to Elliott Bay's eastern side in 1852.    "

"Seattle is best visited in the summer, when sunny, rain-free days are ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. It's the ideal time of year to visit lively festivals and take in unobstructed views of the Space Needle.Clear skies are ideal for enjoying many of Seattle's best attractions. It is difficult to obtain a nice view of the city on a rainy day, which is the whole purpose of climbing the Space Needle.
Summer (June to August): This is the best time of year for festivals and outdoor activities because of the warm, dry, and sunny weather.
The second shoulder season, which runs from April to May and September to October, has nice weather and less tourists. The best months are May and September, when daytime highs hover between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius.
Fall (September to October): Because of the pleasant weather and stunning fall foliage, this time of year is also suggested.

While spring and fall offer more laid-back experiences with pleasant weather, summer is generally thought to be the finest season for unobstructed views and exciting activities.Clear skies and little likelihood of rain are also desirable if you intend to hike Mount Rainier. One of the few seasons with a decent likelihood of multiple consecutive clear days is the summer.

One of the greatest times of year to explore Seattle's stunning natural surroundings is during the summer. Although there is a chance of seeing whales at any time of year, the San Juan Islands' whale viewing is most enjoyable in the summer. In the Seattle region, the salmon spawning season also starts in the summer. The weather is ideal for taking a walk in the outdoors or on the beach. Residents and city officials in Seattle make the most of the lovely weather by organizing a wide range of outdoor events.

Around town, there will be street markets, outdoor film festivals, and much more. You can eat outside as cafes and eateries bring their tables to the street.
"The summers in Seattle are a pleasant surprise. Long, sunny days with temperatures between 70°F and 80°F replace the gloomy clouds. It's the perfect weather for pleasantly visiting the city because there is very little humidity and virtually no rain.Even though there is plenty to do in every season, summertime in Seattle is unbeatable. Because it's warm, the sun is out most days, and there are always things to do, everyone is generally in a wonderful mood.
Although there aren't many sandy beaches in Seattle, Alki Beach in West Seattle is one of the few locations. People swarm here because they know it's one of the greatest summertime activities in Seattle. For instance, you can ride bikes down the strip, swim in the ocean, and play beach volleyball.
Taking a Seattle whale-watching excursion is one of the most famous summertime activities in Seattle. Our local whales love to show off for the boats, which all maintain a respectful distance, and this is the ideal time to view them playing in their natural habitat.

It never gets old the first time you see the first whale tail, and I've done this several times. Since it seems to be well-known in Seattle, I'm always delighted to give guests tours when they visit. Since it's easier to see the whales and the waves are a little calmer in the morning, I suggest doing a morning tour.
Taking a seaplane to observe the city from above is one of the top summertime activities in Seattle. To take a quick trip across Lake Union, Lake Washington, and Puget Sound, you can reserve a tour departing from South Lake Union or Lake Washington.

For good reason, locals treasure this time of year. With dazzling blue skies that seem to go on forever, it's the perfect time of year for outdoor adventures, beach walks, and rooftop feasts. There are many festivals in Seattle during the summer that showcase the city's thriving culinary, artistic, and cultural scenes. There is something for everyone, whether you enjoy local cuisine, live music, or parades. Among the events you shouldn't miss are:

An iconic air show, neighborhood parades, and hydroplane racing are all part of the renowned summertime ritual known as Seafair.
A weekend-long street celebration that highlights Seattle's independent music and art culture is called the Capitol Hill Block Party.
With dozens of neighborhood eateries and chefs preparing meals in Seattle Center, Bite of Seattle is a foodie's dream come true.
Markets and Movies Outside Throughout the summer, pop-up night markets, movie screenings in the park, and artisan fairs are typical in many areas.
Every weekend offers a fresh excuse to party outside."
"Winter in Seattle is an exciting season to visit the city because it offers a special combination of pleasant weather, fun events, and stunning scenery.
For a variety of reasons, Seattle is a popular destination in the winter. The city is the ideal location for snowboarding, hiking, and snowshoeing because of its proximity to the mountains. Taking a ferry over the lake will allow you to see the shimmering Seattle skyline. Magic is in the air as there are many holiday activities.
Temperature: In Seattle, winter temperatures normally fall between 30°F and 50°F. With average high temperatures of 46°F and low temperatures of 39°F, December is the coldest month. Temperatures are comparable in January and slightly higher in February.

Rainfall: December has an average of 5.72 inches of precipitation, making it the third rainiest month in Seattle's notoriously wet winters. It should rain for about 14 days this month.

Snowfall: With an average of approximately 5–6 inches of snowfall each year, snowfall is very uncommon in Seattle. Significant snow occurrences are rare, with the majority of snowfall falling in December and January.
Nearby ski resorts like Stevens Pass and Snoqualmie Pass provide fantastic skiing and snowboarding experiences for winter sports enthusiasts. Another enjoyable family-friendly activity is ice skating at Winterfest Icerink.

"If you do not include transportation to and from the city, you should budget approximately $1,209 for your five days in Seattle. By making reservations at moderate hotels, dining at typical restaurants, and purchasing some admission tickets to well-known sites, one can remain relatively near to this daily average.
On average, a journey to Seattle costs $242 per day. Based on other travelers' costs, this represents the typical daily cost of a Seattle vacation. On average, previous visitors have spent one day: The average cost of two people traveling to Seattle for a week is $3,388.
Please be aware that costs can change depending on your speed, travel preferences, and other factors. The cost per person usually decreases if you are traveling with a family of three or four because hotel rooms can be shared and children's tickets are less expensive. Your daily budget will decrease if you travel more slowly over an extended period of time. One person traveling alone for a week in Seattle will often have a higher daily budget than two persons traveling together for a month.

The average cost of a one-month trip to Seattle is about $7,260 for one person and $14,520 for two. Due to rising transportation expenses, the daily rate will rise as you visit more locations.
"Seattle offers something for everyone, whether you want to see the famed Space Needle, indulge in the city's well-known coffee culture, or take in the breathtaking scenery. However, it's important to know the admittance requirements before you set off on your Seattle excursion. You might have to apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization, depending on where you live.
A lot of individuals who are thinking about visiting Seattle for the first time are unsure of what paperwork they will require in addition to their passport. They're not sure if they require a visa or not, and they've likely heard of something called ESTA but aren't sure if there is a difference between the requirements for ESTA and a visa. Although it is a travel permit, an ESTA is not a visa.
Residents of 42 nations that are members of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) can apply for ESTA. Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Malta, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom are among these nations. Under this program, visitors and business travelers can enter the country for a maximum of 90 days without a visa.
A U.S. visa or an ESTA, or Electronic System for Travel Authorization, is required for visitors to the United States who do not have a Canadian or U.S. passport. An authorized ESTA is evidence that a person has been granted permission to enter the United States by land, air, or sea under the Visa Waiver Program, but it does not ensure admittance.
The final decision on admission to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program is made by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) border guards. The rights provided to the holder of a U.S. visa vary; for example, the rights to immigration and admission are more robust when transferring to another visa category or prolonging the length of stay in the United States.
"Applying for a U.S. visitor visa costs $185.

"Dungeness crab is a staple of Pacific Northwest cuisine, and Seattle is a great place to sample one of the region's most well-known dishes. This crab type, which is harvested from the region's cold, pristine seas, is highly regarded by seafood fans due to its sweet, soft meat. Although lobster rolls are typically associated with the East Coast, Seattle has given them a unique twist. Seafood is already a major attraction in the city. You can capture flying fish, browse among countless fresh produce stalls, and visitors tuck into some of the most mouthwatering chowders ever at Seattle's famous Pike Place Market. While there are many excellent sushi restaurants in Seattle, Sushi Kashiba and Wataru are the top picks when it comes to dining there. They both get their seafood locally and from Japan, but they are both genuine. It's impossible to overlook Sam Choy's Poke To The Max, a major wave among Seattle's many poke locations. In combination with other foods, cream cheese has come to be associated with Seattle and is, maybe oddly, one of the best foods to eat there. It is typically found on sushi restaurants in the United States as a component of the ""Seattle roll,"" which also includes cream cheese and salmon. While there are many excellent sushi restaurants in Seattle, Sushi Kashiba and Wataru are the top picks when it comes to dining there. They both get their seafood locally and from Japan, but they are both genuine.
Ramen has its own particular place among the diverse culinary delicacies of Seattle. The city's cold, misty air somehow makes it feel perfect to dive into a steamy bowl of ramen. It's no surprise that Seattle's ramen shops are doing so well, considering the locals' passion for real flavors and fresh ingredients.Donuts and Seattle are a pairing made in culinary paradise. There is a place (or several) for every type of donut enthusiast, and the Emerald City's inventive culinary culture is reflected in its robust donut game.

"In downtown Seattle and the surrounding King County neighborhoods, King County Metro Transit offers bus and other services.
Although they don't have the speed of airplanes or the glitz of trains, Seattle's intercity bus connections are typically the least expensive choice; three-and-a-half-hour excursions from Portland cost around $25. Those without stations are run by Flixbus, which makes stops at SeaTac Airport, the University of Washington, and the Chinatown-International District. Greyhound, the parent company, stops at the Seattle Bus Station, which is located immediately south of the Chinatown-International District, and costs a little more ($30). Additionally, both brands have comparable routes to British Columbia's Vancouver. Smaller towns surrounding Washington are connected to Seattle by a patchwork of state-supported lines, the majority of which arrive at the Seattle Bus Station.
